Music brings us all together, wether you are a skinhead, hippy, nerd or gangster and Knoxy's first solo art show at LAATE was an epic celebration of mates and music.
His images are a mix of the reality, of the adventure a gig can often be. Sweaty, funny, vulnerable, messy and loud all at the same time. Gigs are a wild marathon that most of us wish to pursue but little of us get to immortalise into the perfect lit imagery, like KNOXY does!
Following in the ethos of the local Aussie owned beer company Hawke's Brewing Co. we thought why not auction one of these epic pieces off !! SO we did, and made an epic $605 for landcare in order to help support this great land we live on, while it so desperately is in need.
With a routine as wild as her art Rosie's upcoming show at the all story is a show not to be missed.
If you are to faint hearted to get amongst the uniquely dark world of spooky art right around halloween then drop in as we will have an exclusive sketch of her already sold The Head of Saint John after Aberdeen on display.
Ex South Coast then Bondi deweller, moved up to Suffolk Park for a more chilled and laid back life. In the new serenity she found she started collecting items and creating layered art that is as visually pleasing as it is quirky.
We sat down and discussed a few quick questions with the up and coming cut and paste sea loving gypsy. We quickly found out that she is the kinda girl that likes to dance on the sand, be covered in salt from the sea, her sense of adventure is never to far and she likes to mall grab, Kooky is part of her nature and she embraces it all.
We caught up with artistic talent, skate fiend and good friend Matthew 'Pigeon boy' Lauricella. Pigeon Boy has quickly ascended to the top of our fave skate artists in recent years and has worked on some fucking awesome shit within the industry.
We like Pigeon, cause he is real, funny, likes to break down barriers and doesn't give a damm about cliques. He is an influencer and his stoke brings back a nostaligic feeling of skate or die, everyone gotta try it, in light hearted way.
Matt is a funny guy, you should read what he has to say, it will make you a better person. Also no stress if you cant read there is heaps of imagery to distract you also.
