This little interview rises above the clutter of all the COVID madness. It is a bit light hearted and will give you a break from the Carol Baskin memes and TikTok insanity. Taylor shares some snaps she took awhile back on her placement in Nhulunbuy of some local mob dropping in and skating for the first time.
I got to catch up with my overseas email pal, Priya.
She is boss lady and awesome creative behind our fave bodysuit label Lazy Daze, She also supports and works along side her partner Andy Roy for pod cast 'Rip Ride' which is epic and you should listen too here. or watch on YOUTUBE.
While I am excited to continue to watch her turn everything she does into pure gold and be an absolute powerhouse of mastering the multi tasking here is a brief insight into her own unique brand of fucking rad.
The British skateboarder and mum is a creative, who packs a powerful female punch which is softened by a little bit of humour. Just like her cheeky female skate brand SALON SKATEBOARDS. Stef does the girls proud by speaking about how skateboarding is generally marketed away from women, but believes and advocates that the sport like any other is for everyone. Kind hearted, humble and honest is what makes this new mum, skater so bloody loveable. Here we ask her a few basic Q's.
Casey chats life, starting his own skate mag, shares his awesome music choices, opens up his photography, film archive and when we thought one our fave New Zealand born skaters couldn't get any more genuine, his responses really shine a light on his chilled out and humble being. This lord launches FORM this month and we could not be more excited.
We caught up with David Marino, Skater, photographer & architecture student from Paradise Point QLD. He likes to keep life simple and toned back. Skateboarding and photography has lead his path and changed his perception on the world.
Skateboarding was the first medium for me to be able to express myself.
I was looking at the world around me in a completely unique way compared to others who did not skate.
Ex South Coast then Bondi deweller, moved up to Suffolk Park for a more chilled and laid back life. In the new serenity she found she started collecting items and creating layered art that is as visually pleasing as it is quirky.
We sat down and discussed a few quick questions with the up and coming cut and paste sea loving gypsy. We quickly found out that she is the kinda girl that likes to dance on the sand, be covered in salt from the sea, her sense of adventure is never to far and she likes to mall grab, Kooky is part of her nature and she embraces it all.
We caught up with artistic talent, skate fiend and good friend Matthew 'Pigeon boy' Lauricella. Pigeon Boy has quickly ascended to the top of our fave skate artists in recent years and has worked on some fucking awesome shit within the industry.
We like Pigeon, cause he is real, funny, likes to break down barriers and doesn't give a damm about cliques. He is an influencer and his stoke brings back a nostaligic feeling of skate or die, everyone gotta try it, in light hearted way.
Matt is a funny guy, you should read what he has to say, it will make you a better person. Also no stress if you cant read there is heaps of imagery to distract you also.
